Delta Airlines, one of the world's largest air carriers, missed a brand new Airbus A350-1000 "medium-range" aircraft on its way to Atlanta from Munich. Delta had just received their first A350 delivery in February 2018 and was excited about the arrival. The malfunctioning plane is set to be repaired in Frankfurt before taking off again soon. The impact on Delta's operations has been significant according to a source who was quoted by Bloomberg.

The source said that the airline planned to fly more than 100 passengers on the inaugural Delta Missed flight to Atlanta. But the plane was late; it took more than four hours to reach Atlanta. Delta's management is now concerned about how they will manage the breakdown in their flight schedule.

The airline has delayed their customers' travel plans by many hours while they wait for a new plane to be delivered from production facilities in France and later from Boeing's latest production facility in Seattle.
